Ishida, who has been teaching English to seniors for 23 years, introduces how he teaches older people using a Q-and-A method. Part 2 features essays written by his students. Twenty-four people write why they still study English at their age. The chapter also introduces four middle-aged homemakers who study English at university. Part 3 gives Ishida's viewpoints on teaching English. Sponsored by the Taito Ward Board of Education, Ishida, who started teaching English when he was over 40, has taught a total of 2,000 seniors at a community center and on other occasions. He is also an auditor of the Japan Association for Language Teaching.
